BUSY BUSY!!! Wow Where did summer GOOOO???

IN MEMORIAM of the people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. It has been 7 years ago already. But yet I remember clearly like yesterday what I was doing and where I was at. I did not lose anyone personally but I had many friends on the East Coast, who had relatives lost. Early this morning at 6:30 I put my large flag out on the front porch in remembrance. And a special flag it is as well because it was given to us when Dad passed away 1 year earlier almost to the day.

END OF JULY:
Ok heres a couple pictures of the past month. My hubby and I took a backroads trip to see our friends Lynn and Lorin down in Lewiston. On the highway it is 2 1/2 hours but taking the backroads turned it into 4 1/2 hours, with Fantastic scenery and very enjoyable cool weather.

This is Clearwater river, just outside of Lewiston heading east
The Kendrick Julietta grade as we were heading up the hillside. You can see the cut into the hill where the road travels, and it is very steep!
This is in the midst of our travel through the backroads. Just outside a little town called Santa, Idaho
The lake at St Maries Idaho
Some wildflowers on the roadside. Not sure but possibly syringa

BEGINNING OF JULY:

This is where I worked all summer. NO Air conditioning! And it got hot in that window. We did have a nice breeze blow through most days because its right off the highway. Between 10 am and 1 pm it was slamming busy crazy with hundreds of cars wanting in as fast as they could get!
Try to guess how many times I got to say with cheerful voice and smile on face. Hello, Parking is four dollars unless you have a silverwood season pass.
My buddy Lynn on left and Me on right.
Im in tye dye tank, Lynn and Lorin on their bike, and my hubby Pat in the back wearing black helmet
Miss Canayla is the older one by 4 years, but smaller. SERIOUS attitude! Shes nicknamed BOO. And Rusty is the baby at just 1 year this month, and weighs twice as much. Hes nicknamed BEAR. Gee I wonder why?

START OF AUGUST:

the three NICU gowns I made for Kathy's first grand daughter born at a wee 3 pounds

thats my hand on the gown to show you just how small a 3 pounder's gown would be!

START OF SEPTEMBER:

I started this project in april , inspired by Janets and Lauri's color study. I have always wanted a quilt made using the color wheel and this is what I decided to do! Crazy Quilt!
my first 3 wedges all embellished
this is almost finished, I took this pic start of august and since then I have completed all the embellishments of the 12 wedges and Im sewing it onto the black velvet backing now.
This is the quilt that Lynn made when she came up for her first visit in two years! We celebrated by shopping for batik fabrics at Bearpaw in Coeur d'alene and then sewed for the entire week she visited!

Gosh, Robin, that was a long post! LOL! I don't know what to comment on - the pics are beautiful. I love the area around St. Maries. Did you stop at the quilt shop there? I guess it's still there, don't know for sure.

The little NICU dresses are adorable.

Love how the CQ is coming along.

Looks like you had some great times with Lynn!
